‘The Body and Space’ conference will explore innovative and experimental research, practice, thinking that incorporates interdisciplinary thinking and working in relation to all aspects of interiors, fashion and other related disciplines. The conference will disseminate new thinking and approaches that explores the diversity of human occupation, ranging from the garment to the city.

The conference aims to stimulate interest in both disciplines and their contribution to design and culture. It is aimed at both new and established researchers, educators, practitioners engaged in exploring all of the diverse range of the practices, theories, histories, and languages of all aspects of design who filter their ideas through the body and via space. The aims of the conference are to examine the role of design, in its diversity of forms, and to recognize, evaluate and profile its significance via presentation, exhibition and publication(s). The objectives of the conference are to disseminate designs past, present and future. The conference encourages interaction between subject areas, academic and practice-led projects, and institutional and international collaboration. It will be an intersection between researchers and practitioners, academics and teachers, and a two-day hub for positive exchange and creative production.
